Edgeware and Mirada said they are formally partnering to provide a multiscreen delivery system after having won a set of joint bids with several customers.
The two have integrated Edgeware’s Video Consolidation Platform (VCP), a content delivery system, with Mirada’s Iris, which provides the user experience.
VCP is a single, consolidated platform that delivers content at massive scale to all device types, without having to manage duplicate, siloed delivery networks.
Iris offers two user interfaces (UIs), Origin UI and Inspire UI, combined with a back-office system, Iris Service Delivery Platform (SDP). Iris enables pay TV operators to offer a range of services including video on demand (VOD), catch-up TV and cloud DVR with a customized visual experience tailored to the unique features of each device.
Service providers can use the combined solution to deliver a unified user experience across multiple devices, including set-top boxes (STBs), computers, smartphones and tablets.
The two said their joint solution is already being used by four operators in Brazil, Mexico and Spain. The companies did not identify the customers.
“Our joint customer wins in Latin America and Spain are only the first of many opportunities with Mirada,” said Joachim Roos, CEO at Edgeware. “The combined strengths of Mirada’s consumer-centric UIs and back-office products and our highly flexible and scalable delivery architecture, create a solution that directly addresses the needs of TV and video operators around the globe.”
