Electroline has launched the ELineMonitor, a tool that aims to help HFC network operations, technical and management staff assure the quality of service (QoS) the network is providing to customers.
In addition to assuring QoS levels, the ELineMonitor can also identify sources of potential issues impacting the system and reduce the meantime to repair.
The new entrant uses a standard DOCSIS communications channel, and leverages the company’s temperature-hardened monitoring capabilities of its DOCSIS-based HMS (hybrid management sub-layer) status monitoring transponders.
The company added that any SNMP management system can monitor key performance indicators from remotely and strategically located ElineMonitors set in the coaxial segment of the network. In concert with Electroline’s EnetToolBox testing server, the system can also perform tests of network throughput, and display QAM constellation, MER, and VoIP and MOS scores via a Web-based interface/display.
