Electronic Loads Cover Wider Range Of Voltage And Frequency Capabilities

March 20, 2018 By Adaptive Power Systems Inc. (APS)

Adaptive Power Systems Inc. (APS) is introducing a range of programmable AC and DC capable electronic loads with available power levels of 1875VA/W, 2800VA/W or 3750VA/W for AC and DC power test applications.

These fully featured loads are targeted at the development and test of avionics power supplies and DC/AC inverters that produce 400Hz AC power outputs up to 300Vrms. These new electronic loads incorporate many test capabilities for design validation and product test. They can be used to test both DC power supplies and AC power sources or UPS for enhanced flexibility. Special test functions are built-in for testing of UPS’s, PV Inverters, Batteries and AC rectifiers.

Sporting a logical front panel layout with large, easy to read vacuum fluorescent displays and a simple to operate keypad, the Adaptive Power Systems 3C Series AC loads offer intuitive front panel operation for both lab environments or production floor requirements. For automated production test system applications, control interfaces like USB, LAN, GPIB or RS232 are supported. The 3C loads support a Master/Slave paralleling mode to create higher power and current systems. Three 3C loads can support testing of three-phase loads using a built-in Master/Slave Delta or Wye configuration.

According to Michael Grant, sales specialist for Adaptive Power Systems, Inc.: “These programmable AC and DC loads are very cost effective tools for development and test engineers. They represent a logical product line expansion to our existing AC &DC Sources and DC Load product lines. With the addition of these new AC load products, we can now offer a complete spectrum of power-centric solutions to our customers from a single vendor.”
