Elemental Technologies said it has integrated its Elemental Live system with YouTube Live, the video site’s feature that enables the streaming of live events.
The integration makes it easier for professional content producers to create and synchronize YouTube Live events.
Elemental Live processes and encodes video into multiple adaptive bit rate outputs, in SD and HD, for delivery to any device. The company provides a Web-based interface to manage production workflows.
Firms that have distributed live content using gear from Elemental via YouTube include long-time customer World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), which deploys Elemental gear in a variety of streaming workflows, including the use of Elemental Live to stream pay-per-view pre-show events via YouTube Live, Elemental Technologies said.
Other customers include NexGen Network (NGN), which uses the system to distribute live video of Ultimate Frisbee events, and the technical team managing the Ig Nobel Prize ceremony.
“Elemental has helped us enable a viewing experience never before possible for fans of Ultimate,” said Kevin Minderhout, executive producer of NGN. “Fans internationally can now tune in to watch a live stream of exceptional quality at their specific level of connectivity.”
