Entone has hooked up with BTC Broadband to help provision a new hybrid TV service in Bixby, Okla.
The service uses Entone’s FusionTV platform, which features dual-core processors from Broadcom, to combine live, over-the-air TV programs with DVR capabilities and cloud-based media services from companies such as Vudu. The service will also be able to pull in more than 50 online applications, including Flickr, Facebook, Picasa and Twitter.
BTC Broadband is in the process of building out its fiber-to-the-home network (FTTH) in Bixby and surrounding areas.
“Our FTTH deployment is a key technological differentiator for our services,” said Scott Floyd, director of sales, product development and customer services at BTC Broadband. “With a product like Entone’s FusionTV, we can leverage our high-speed network to bring next-generation, broadband-centric services to market while also increasing our overall customer satisfaction with a rich and compelling TV service.”
Entone’s FusionTV offering is a turnkey managed platform that includes software, equipment and service. FusionTV combines traditional TV service with over-the-top (OTT) services and is delivered as an operator-branded offering.
