Globosat has yet another technology vendor helping it to broadcast World Cup games in 4K; this time it’s Envivio.
Others who have announce that they’re working on delivering football games for the Brazilian company include Broadcom and Elemental Technologies, and Tektronix.
Envivio said it will enable Globosat to broadcast quarterfinal, semifinal, and final games at 60 frames per second (4Kp60).
Last May, Envivio’s had been involved in a live 4K broadcast of the 2014 French Open tennis tournament.
Globosat is using Envivio’s Muse Ultra HD, a live or file-based video encoding/transcoding solution. Muse Ultra HD can encode up to 4K video resolution in up to 60 fps. It can encode video in 8- or 10 bits, the company said.
Envivio Muse software is designed to support both live and on-demand 4K compression in HEVC format, the company said.
