From Lexis Nexis
Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on Tuesday (1 February) that it had expanded its broadband access offering to the Fiber To The Node (FTTN) market through an agreement with Canadian-based telecomms company Critical Telecom.
By integrating Critical Telecom’s outside plant remote Ethernet DSLAM into Ericsson’s Public Ethernet portfolio, Ericsson can support operators delivering such services as IPTV, according to the company.
The emerging need for multiple television streams, High Definition Television (HDTV), in combination with enhanced high-speed Internet service offerings, requires that access nodes be deployed closer to the end users, Ericsson said.
