FilmStruck, the new streaming movie service for film aficionados that launched last month, is looking to add more devices people can use to access the service. On Thursday, the company said its streaming library of contemporary and classic arthouse, indie, foreign, and cult films are now available on Apple TV.
So, to date, cinephiles can use Apple TV 4th generation devices, Amazon Fire TV, web, iOS, and Android devices. FilmStruck also can be accessed in the Apple App store, as well as online at FilmStruck’s site and via Google Play for Android users.
On the streaming service’s FAQ page, it says Roku and Chromecast access will be available in early 2017. Access for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is also slated for some time in 2017, according to FilmStruck’s site.
The service’s subscriptions start at $6.99/month. It bumps up to $10.99/month if users want to add a subscription to the Criterion Channel, which includes Criterion’s entire streaming library of films and special features, along with channel-exclusive original programming such as filmmaker profiles, master classes, and curated series. A $99/year offering is also available for both FilmStruck and Criterion Channel.
Originally announced back in April, the OTT service is developed and managed by Turner Classic Movies in collaboration with the Criterion Collection.
