Overheating Cordless Drill
Harbor Freight Tools is recalling about 1.7 million units of its Drill Master 18-Volt Cordless Drills with item number 68239 and item number 68287.
An internal switching mechanism can become stuck in the “on” position and overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.
The company received 25 reports of the drill switch overheating, including six reports of burns to the hands and fingers, and five reports of minor property damage.
Consumers should immediately stop using the drills and return the product to the nearest Harbor Freight Tools store to receive a replacement drill.
Manufactured in China, the drills were sold at Harbor Freight Tools stores nationwide, in the Harbor Freight Tools catalog, and online at www.harborfreight.com from May 2011 to September 2015 for about $35 for item number 68239 and $46 for item number 68287.

Mountain Bicycles Pose Fall Hazard
Felt Bicycles is recalling all model year 2015 Felt Double Double 30, NINEe 20, and Edict 1 mountain bicycles.
According to the recall, “The carbon seat post originally sold with the bicycle can crack and break, posing injury and fall hazards to the rider.”
The company received 10 reports of the seat post cracking. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers should stop using the recalled bicycles and contact their local Felt Bicycles dealer for a free inspection and a seat post replacement.
Manufactured in Taiwan, the mountain bicycles were sold in bicycle stores nationwide from August 2014 through September 2015 for between $2,000 and $5,500.

Reading Chairs Pose Fall Hazard
Cost Plus World Market is recalling its high-back upholstered reading chairs sold in a black and white floral print.
According to the recall, “The front leg on reading chairs sold without front leg support blocks can bend or break, posing a fall hazard to the user.”
Eight reports of front chair legs bending or breaking have been received by the company, including one report of an injury when a consumer fell out of the chair.
Consumers should immediately inspect the front legs for support blocks. Chairs found to be without support blocks can be returned to any Cost Plus World Market for a free exchange.

Fireworks Design Fail Poses Burn Hazard
North Central Industries is recalling its Fireworks Fountains due to a burn and injury hazard.
According to the recall, “The rear plug of the candle can dislodge while lit, posing burn and fire hazards to the user if the user is holding the device.”
The recall involves all mammoth Great Grizzly brand California Candles, which are designed to make crackling noises and display flowering tulips, blue pearls, and gold showers.
The company has received six reports of the candle’s rear plug dislodging while the firework was lit, resulting in burn injuries to the individual holding the device. However, no reports of property damage have been reported.
Consumers are instructed to stop using the fireworks and contact North Central Industries for a full refund.
Manufactured in China, the products were sold at various stores across the U.S. from May 2015 through June 2015 for between $15 and $25.
