The Board of Directors of Verizon Communications Inc. has declared a quarterly dividend of 56.5 cents per outstanding share, unchanged from the previous quarter. The dividend is payable Feb. 1, 2016, to Verizon Communications shareowners of record at the close of business on Jan. 8, 2016.
Verizon has approximately 4.1 billion shares of common stock outstanding. The company made $6.4 billion in cash dividend payments through the first nine months of 2015. In September 2015, Verizon’s Board had approved a quarterly dividend increase for the ninth consecutive year.
RealNetworks announced that it has partnered with Japanese mobile operator KDDI to offer subscribers the ability to create and share their digital memories using RealNetworks’ app, RealTimes. The collaboration is specific to the Japanese market and is RealNetworks’ first partnership for RealTimes in Asia.
The “RealTimes for au” smartphone app finds the best photos and videos on a subscriber’s smartphone and automatically turns them into a video montage called a RealTimes Story, which can be shared with friends and family privately or through social media. KDDI au subscribers can begin using the RealTimes for au app immediately by signing in with their au ID on their Android smartphones and iPhones to access the RealTimes service.
Syniverse announced that it has signed a multiyear agreement with Roshan, Afghanistan’s largest telecommunications company, to provide revenue assurance and fraud detection services. The agreement will provide Roshan with predictive analytic solutions that protect the company against the latest forms of mobile fraud and optimize its revenue flow.
Mozido, a provider of mobile wallets for payment and commerce solutions, announced it has launched NFC mobile payment and loyalty services for Telkomsel Indonesia, in partnership with Verifone Mobile Money and financial services provider Finnet Indonesia. Mozido also provides Telkomsel’s merchants with a mobile coupon management system that provides retailers the ability to send their own branded coupons directly to targeted TWallet consumers. Participating merchants span the verticals of fast food, cinema and supermarkets, and include McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Baskin Robbins, 7 Eleven, Cinema XXI, GraPARI, Alfamart and Indomaret.
