Growth in the deployment of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) technologies has led to an increase in the number of high resolution and high frame-rate cameras within vehicles. This requires an increased amount of data that must be reliably transmitted from the ADAS system, including the camera itself, to the signal-processing control unit. In response to these increasing demands, TE Connectivity (TE) has launched an innovative broadband coaxial connector portfolio that meets the requirements of current and next-generation automotive camera systems.
TE’s broadband coaxial connector portfolio includes fixed and floating header solutions and offers the following benefits:
High performance: Two-piece and one-piece HD connectors able to support a bandwidth of 6 GHz and cameras of 12 megapixels with frame rates of 60 frames per second and beyond
Automotive robustness: Connectors provide a high-level of misalignment compensation of ±0.5 mm in all directions and also include waterproofing of IP6K9K
Easy integration: Based on both FAKRA and TE’s MATE-AX interfaces, TE’s connectors are compatible for single and multiple PCB camera designs and support all current and next-generation automotive coaxial SerDes protocols. All connectors also support a phantom power supply.
Flexible design: Connectors within TE’s broadband coaxial connector portfolio are compact in size and are compatible with metal and plastic housings. In addition, they allow for flexible mounting orientation with SMT/THT PCB mounting.
