Charter Communications has hired Richard Schultz for the position of senior vice president of inbound sales and retention, customer operations.
Schultz has more than 25 years of experience leading sales in the telecommunications industry, most recently at Cox Communications.
Based at Charter’s corporate headquarters in Stamford, Conn., Schultz oversees Charter’s sales centers in Greenville, S.C. and St. Louis, Mo. Charter said inbound sales represented the company’s largest sales channel.
In addition to leading inbound sales, he also has responsibility for retention and sales support. Schultz reports to Kip Mayo, executive vice president, customer operations.
At Cox, Schultz served as senior vice president of sales with responsibility for inbound sales, outbound sales, retention, retail stores and direct sales.
Prior to joining the cable industry, he served in senior sales and marketing roles for a number of wireless and technology companies, including Sprint and AT&T Wireless.
