Foxtel is providing on demand and catch-up television services, using video processing systems from Elemental Technologies.
The Australian service provider is now delivering over-the-top (OTT) content, in addition to roaming access to more than 50 channels through its Foxtel Go app, now available to customers with iPads and iPhones (iPhone 4 or higher). It is available to both the company’s cable and satellite subscribers.
The company said it expects to begin offering OTT and Foxtel Go on Android devices in coming months.
For subscribers, video consumption is metered whether connected to a Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G network.
Foxtel is employing multiple Elemental systems to process and deliver more than 50 channels for the Foxtel Go over-the-top (OTT) and TV Everywhere services.
“Foxtel Go is a game-changing way for people to take their entertainment with them on the go. We are thrilled to offer our subscribers this fantastic way to enjoy our premium content,” said Brett Paton, head of product solutions design for Foxtel. “Elemental’s performance, integration, support and rapid delivery times went a long way towards helping our continued channel expansion.”
