Former Frontier Communications CFO Perley McBride has stepped into the chief financial role at Cox Communications.
McBride, who spent a decade at Frontier, announced in June that he would resign, citing personal reasons.
He has more than 20 years of industry experience in financial roles, including his time at Cable & Wireless Communications as CFO. McBride also held executive roles at Leap Wireless, where he led the company through its acquisition by AT&T.
McBride will report to Cox president Pat Esser.
“Perley brings a wealth of industry expertise, and I look forward to his weighing in on all aspects of our business as we ignite new areas of growth that leverage our core capabilities,” Esser said in a statement. “He has a proven track record of helping companies achieve sustained growth in complex and competitive marketplaces that will be invaluable to us.”
In other Cox news this week, Cox Business added to its managed services portfolio and connected cloud offerings with the acquisition of RapidScale.
Global managed cloud services provider RapidScale aims to help businesses improve productivity and reduce IT expenditures.
“Businesses today need a true technology partner to deliver innovation that helps them transform operations, better engage with customers and remain competitive,” said Steve Rowley, EVP at Cox Business, in a statement. “Adding RapidScale to the Cox family, grows our business in a strategic manner by improving our cloud platform and enhances our value to business customers, regardless of size or vertical market.”
