Bringing low Qrr to the efficiency battle

One year into their stint as an independent company, the former Standard Products division of NXP, Nexperia now has more than 800 discrete, logic, and MOSFET devices in their portfolio. In addition to premiering their first products in the power rectifier market, Nexperia introduced the NextPower 100 V MOSFETs, The devices boast low Qrr (recovery charge) and are qualified to 175 C. The low Qrr results in lower reverse recovery current (Irr), lower voltage spikes, and reduced ringing which allows for further optimized dead-time for additional efficiency gains. Check out this blog post, “Qrr: overlooked and underappreciated in efficiency battle,” for a gentle, technical reminder to “let your eyes wander down to the bottom of the datasheet to consider Qrr”.
