Alaskan operator GCI reports it is extending its presence in the Pacific Northwest with the acquisition of Northpoint Consulting LLC., which is based in Seattle. GCI says in a statement that the move will allow it to provide broader management offerings nationwide. Among Northpoint’s consulting services are network analysis and security, cloud migration management, and communications design. According to its website, its customers include Cisco and the Seattle Seahawks and “many of the top Fortune 500 companies nationwide.”
Nathan Clark, founder of Northpoint, will transition to VP of business development in the Pacific Northwest for GCI. “GCI has been delivering services for more than 35 years and we’re excited for Northpoint customers to be able to benefit from GCI’s extensive portfolio,” Clark says. “We recognize the value of offering managed services to our customers to free up valuable resources and reduce costs.”
Northpoint’s staff of 23 will become GCI employees.
“We are thrilled to welcome Northpoint’s team of network experts to the GCI family,” Martin Cary, SVP and GM of GCI Business, says. “As we expand our footprint in the Pacific Northwest and across the nation, GCI will continue to recruit expert staff and invest in the latest technology in order to deliver the best possible solutions to our customers.”
