General Bandwidth and Alcatel consummated a marriage made in technology Tuesday, inking a deal that will enable Alcatel to sell equipment geared for ATM-based voice services offered over fiber-to-the-user networks.
Under terms of the agreement, Alcatel will integrate, co-market and resell General Bandwidth’s G6 Packet Telephony Migration Platform, which supports IP, ATM and TDM-based voice applications.
“Alcatel is a leading equipment provider among our core accounts, making this relationship a logical step for General Bandwidth,” said Brendon Mills, president and CEO of General Bandwidth.
Austin, Texas-based General Bandwidth, founded in May 1999, has secured equipment deals with service providers such as Eastern Broadband Telecom, Qwest, SBC and Hancock Telecom, among others.
