Google is now testing technology that allows advertisers to buy ads across Google TV YouTube and video on other Web sites through the same interface.
That Google is testing the service, called Google TV Ads Online, was reported by The Wall Street Journal (story here).
If the trial is successful, the service could be introduced commercially within a few months. The company’s stated aim is to develop an ad platform that bridges online media with traditional media.
Separately, Google is laying off just under 200 people within its sales and marketing organization globally.
The company said it had created a structure with enough overlap and redundancy that an organizational change was necessary.
