Harmonic Inc. has named Patrick Harshman president of its Convergent Systems Division (CSD), a unit that designs, manufactures and markets digital headend gear.
He replaces Yaron Simler, who had held the post since 2001. Harmonic said Simler will depart the company effective July 1, to relocate his family to the east coast and for personal reasons.
Harshman joined Harmonic in 1993, and has served as president of the company’s Broadband Access Networks (BAN) fiber optics unit since January 2001.
“We thank Yaron for his superb contributions to Harmonic and wish him well. We are extremely fortunate to have an outstanding person like Patrick with the right experience, strategic ability and leadership skill, who is ready to step in immediately and ably lead CSD into the future,” said Harmonic Chairman, President & CEO Anthony Ley, in a release.
