Preci-Dip announced high-performance spring loaded contacts (SLCs) for critical applications exposed to high-shock and vibration environments.
Preci-Dip patented “Clip-in-Line” SLCs are used by customers in medical, aerospace, military, industrial, automotive and robotic applications. Clip-in-Line SLCs stand apart from traditional closed shell spring pin design.
The major benefit is in the Clip-in-Line construction. The SLC piston is directly engaged by an internal, elastic BeCu multi-finger clip. As the Clip-in-Line SLC piston is engaged by lateral forces, the clip fingers move like cantilever beams maintaining secure mechanical and electrical contact upon the piston, eliminating any chance of signal discontinuity.
A secondary benefit of Preci-Dip Clip-in-Line SLCs is their construction, which allows for selective gold plating. This translates to cost savings, since the only gold surfaces are the piston and BeCu clip, while the lower shell body can be plated tin for improved solderability
Preci-Dip manufactures molded insulators (to customer specification) for Clip-in-Line SLC applications.
Preci-Dip has integrated its advanced spring loaded contact technologies into environmentally sealed IP6x, critical medical, magnetic breakable latch, and high-speed USB3.x connector applications.
All Preci-Dip products are of the highest Swiss-quality, precision machined and manufactured to the highest standards.
