Honda is set to build a car manufacturing plant in the Western-Indian state of Gujarat. A state support agreement involving Honda Cars India could make the move official within the next four weeks, according to Gujarat Industries Commissioner Mamta Verma.

Other sources have said that the company is close to securing land for the plant, which would be located at the village of Vithalapur – around 80 kilometers from the Indian city of Ahmedabad.
