Windstream Hosted Communications for Small Business, a cloud-based phone solution for small and medium businesses (SMBs), is now on offer from the service provider. It’s IP-based and includes collaboration, mobility and continuity features, and uses Broadsoft technology.

Sarah Day, president of consumer and small business at Windstream, says the enterprise features now on offer were often previously unavailable to small business owners. Services include auto attendant, desktop sharing, and “office anywhere” (in which employees are reachable anywhere via one number).

Windstream released other business services news last month when it said it launched fixed wireless access in Salt Lake City. That service provides local businesses there with Ethernet connectivity via a dedicated microwave wireless connection. More on that story is available here.
