- Google has released the tech specs for its upcoming smart specs: Google Glass. Featuring a tiny, high-res screen that’s equivalent to a 25-inch, high-definition screen from 8 feet away, the specs shoot 5-mega pixel stills and 720p videos; deliver audio via bone conduction; and contain 16 Gigabytes of flash memory, which you can sync with Google cloud storage.
- No one likes being caught in traffic, so to help keep agitated and sleepy drivers stimulated and alert, Gregor Hanuschak, created the Smack Attack steering-wheel cover. Featuring 8 color-coded smack sensors that make different drum sounds when tapped, the device is powered by a small, user-replaceable lithium battery, and communicates with the iPhone via Bluetooth.
- Developers have created a new Internet of Things-friendly microcontroller, Pinoccio, designed to get home-brew electronics projects talking to the Internet and each other. With the capability of wirelessly nattering back and forth with each other by a low-power radio using mesh networking, these small devices are compatible with Arduino and come equipped with a lithium polymer battery.
- PC manufacturers love the Leap Motion 3D controller, which still hasn’t been released, and HP has recently joined the gesture control party. Promising to build the Leap Motion technology into some of its feature devices, HP will also pre-load them with Leap Motion’s Airspace application store, which is set to launch in May.
