ECN Editor Kasey Panetta (@kcpanetta) recently took a field trip to visit our friends at Students 2 Science. The organization is designed to help students experience the thrill of conducting an experiment in a real lab with an eventual goal of inspiring, motivating and educating students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

While they’re in the lab, the students work with professional scientists on a bunch of different experiments throughout their three visits. The lab provides access to sophisticated lab instruments that are too expensive and difficult to maintain for your average science classroom. Last year, the program hosted over 2,200 students during 70 visits to the lab, located in East Hanover New Jersey.
