Video streaming service Hulu has launched a new version of its app for Windows 10 PCs, tablets and smartphones, the company announced earlier this week.
According to Hulu, the new app includes integration with Microsoft’s personal assistant, Cortana, allowing users to use their voice to search for a TV show or movie. The integration also lets users instruct Cortana to start a program or begin playing a show where the user left off previously.
Hulu said the new app also includes support for Microsoft’s Live Tiles, allowing users to keep track of featured shows on the Hulu home page once the app is pinned to a user’s Start menu.
“We’ve built the Hulu app on top of the Universal Windows Platform,” Hulu’s senior vice president of Experience Ben Smith said in a post announcing the new app. “The UWP enabled us to build a great Hulu experience using one code base across all Windows 10 devices, saving time and resources.”
Smith said the app’s design allows for optimized viewing whether a user is watching on a Windows 10 PC or mobile device.
The new app can now be downloaded from the Windows app store, he said.
Launched in July 2015, Windows 10 was installed more than 75 million devices by the end of August, Microsoft said. That number jumped to nearly 200 million devices by the start of 2016, the company said on its Windows Experience Blog.
