What arrived earlier this week in Toulouse, France, could change the way we travel. Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has created a full-scale passenger capsule that is ready for testing. The company is currently building a 320 m test track to see just how well the capsule performs.
Named the Quintero 1, the Hyperloop Transportation Technologies capsule was constructed in Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain, in October of last year. The capsule was built using Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Vibranium, a “specially made dual-layer smart composite material.” Or just a really cool material from a superhero movie.
At 105 ft long and weighing in at 5 tons, the capsule is definitely a marvel.
The company says that all that is left to do is await for the arrival of the remaining tubes for the test track. The full system is set to be assembled this year for performance testing.
