SeaChange International’s Nucleus software is doing the heavy lifting in Netgear’s new headless media gateway.
Netgear is showing its HMG7000 gateway, which will be ready for operator trials the first half of next year, in its booth at the IBC2013 show in Amsterdam.
“SeaChange Nucleus software, with its whole-home DVR and industry-standard DLNA protocols, delivers HTML5 applications from the cloud to connected devices in the home with seamless interoperability and ease of use,” said Shiva Patibanda, general manager, in home business, SeaChange. “SeaChange leverages the power of the industry standard Reference Design Kit to run on multiple SoC, and provide speed to market for customer premises equipment such as Netgear’s HMG7000.”
Nucleus provisions interoperability and connectivity to in-home IP-connected set-top boxes, tablets, smartphones and PCs with a provider’s branded television services and applications, including whole-home DVR, and OTT content launched from the cloud.
