Here’s more Gigabit rollout news from Cable ONE. The operator says it’s launching the service in Boise and western Idaho, where residents who subscribe can reportedly download an HD movie in 60 seconds or less, download 100 songs in four seconds or download a game in 29 seconds.
Every time it reveals a Gig launch, the operator likes to call out competitors by stressing that the service “will be available to all of our customers – not just a select few in certain areas.”
It’s a press release canned quote from Joe Felbab, VP of marketing for Cable ONE, but the following does make the point when it comes to ultra high speed broadband service in smaller markets: “We’ve been committed for decades to serving smaller cities and towns, and we are delighted to provide them with the latest technology to make them Gigabit cities in 2016.”
Cable ONE reports the newest speed is 40 times faster than the average speed currently offered across the U.S., and it says it’s aiming to make it available across the majority of its markets by the end of 2016.
