(Nov. 14, 2012) – Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII) today launched the ConnectCard™ for i.MX28 module, a compact wireless system-on-module for developing connected devices based on Freescale technology. Because of the module’s small form factor and integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth networking options, the module is ideal for developing portable medical devices and other products in energy, transportation, industrial automation and building automation. Through the iDigi® Device Cloud™, developers will have immediate access to an applications development platform and world-class device management functionality.

At 51 x 35 x 3 mm in size, the ConnectCard for i.MX28 is small enough for the most compact designs. The module offers easy design integration, low-power operation and unique interface flexibility. It features an integrated 32-bit ARM core running at up to 454 MHz, on-chip power management, Bluetooth 4.0, and dual Ethernet and 802.11 a/b/g/n networking options.
ConnectCard modules incorporate the iDigi Connector for immediate access to the iDigi Device Cloud. The iDigi Device Cloud provides the infrastructure required to access, control, configure and upgrade unlimited numbers of devices securely over the Internet. Its secure and scalable platform meets the highest standards of reliability.
Digi JumpStart Kits for Digi Embedded Linux provide a complete turnkey embedded development solution and will be available in January 2013. Digi will support an Android version following the Linux release as well as iDigi support for other i.MX processor and module platforms.
