Western Illinois Video (WIV), a consortium of eight independent telcos, has tapped Myrio Corp. to support a rollout of IP-based video services.
WIV hopes to use the platform to deliver services such as video-on-demand (VOD), digital television and Web portal services to its more than 10,000 customers.
Myrio’s platform is Java-based and will allow the WIV companies to deploy their video services on access providers including Advanced Fiber Communications (AFCI), Net to Net Technologies and Paradyne Networks Inc. (PDYN).
“Consortiums like WIV provide IOCs the opportunity to efficiently deploy advanced services to subscribers, crucial for independent operators in today’s competitive environment,” said Roger Shanafelt, Myrio’s vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, in a release.
