InnoMedia announced a line of embedded multimedia terminal adapters (EMTAs) designed specifically for the enterprise market.
The InnoMedia EMTA works with PacketCable provisioning, and provides a palette of calling features. The unit does not include a battery, but does have a port for an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
Features targeted at business applications include ground start and loop start for business PBXs, foreign voltage detection to allow house wiring and prevent accidental connection of house wires to live PSTN, T.38 and G.711 fallback fax support, Bell103/212A modem transmission for credit card reader information transactions, and RJ11 DC open loop for loss of voice link indication to allow alarm triggering.
A 4-port model is now available directly from InnoMedia. A 12-port EMTA will be available in October.
