Insight Communications is updating its digital service across its entire footprint, adding channels and expanding the amount of on-demand content available.
Following a successful test of what the company is calling Insight Digital 2.0 earlier this month in Evansville, Ind., the company said it has introduced the new service in Louisville and Covington, Ky.; Columbus, Ohio; and Rockford and Macomb, Ill. The service will launch in remaining Insight markets by early November.
Insight is re-jiggering the channel line-up, grouping channels with similar themes (sports networks will be located on adjacent channels, for example).
The company has added new digital networks like HRTV, and is also adding three high definition channels: ESPN2 HD, TNT in HD and MHD (MTV’s HD channel).
Insight said it has added more than 1,700 new movies and shows to its catalog of on-demand content, for a total of 3,000 programs. Over 2,000 of these programs are free to InsightDigital 2.0 customers. On Demand TV now includes new Spanish-language offerings, new kids’ content, and programming from networks like A&E, Danger Rangers, CNET, G4, Discovery, IFC, The Anime Network, Octane, Oxygen and TNT.
