Today, Forbes released its second annual Richest in Tech list.
Fair warning: if you’re not feeling optimistic and completely delightful today, I would not suggest reading on. It’s rather depressing if you, yourself, did not make the list (womp, womp).
Let’s dig into the gory details. 100 of the richest tech billionaires in the world are worth a combined $892 billion, which is a whopping 6 percent more than a year ago.
The poorest one of them all (serious bummer!), has a net worth of $2.2 billion, which is actually up from $2 billion last year. So who hit the top of the list in the number one spot? You guessed it—Bill Gates. Gates, the founder of Microsoft, with a $78 billion estimated fortune, is (once again) the richest billionaire in tech. And did we mention he is also the richest person in the world? A spot he’s held for over two decades. NBD. Next year, I’m giving him a run for his money. Literally.
So here it is, in all its glory—the top 10 richest people in tech. Did your name make the list?
