HomeNet Communications has launched voice, video and data services over the fiber-rich “iProvo” municipal network in Provo, Utah.
HomeNet’s package includes a 10 Mbps data service (or as low as 512 kbps), video-on-demand and digital broadcast programming and IP telephony. HomeNet is bundling services in the range of $89.99 to $124.99 per month. The service will apply competitive pressure on the areas two incumbent service providers: Comcast Cable and Qwest Communications International.
HomeNet initially is offering service to about 3,000 homes in the Grandview area. The full iProvo fiber-to-the-home rollout is scheduled for completion by July 2006.
