Last February, SpotMini graced the news with its door-opening antics. Now, 10 SpotMinis got together and collectively pulled a large truck across the Boston Dynamics’ parking lot. The truck was in neutral, and was hauled about one degree uphill.
The company says in the video’s description that the SpotMini robots are just about ready to come off the production line, “and will be available for a range of applications soon.”
SpotMini stands at 0.84 m (2.8 ft), weighs 30 kg (66.1 lb) when wielding its arm, and has 17 joints of freedom. It has the ability to carry 14-kg (30.9-lb) payloads as it moves around using battery power and electric actuation, going 90 minutes on a single charge.
Its sensor package includes an IMU, position/force sensors, and stereo and depth cameras, which all contribute to navigation and mobile manipulation.
