Mediacom Communications announced yesterday that it had scheduled a special meeting of its shareholders for March 4 to vote on Chairman and CEO Rocco Commisso’s bid to take the nation’s eighth-largest cable operator private.
The 10 a.m. meeting will be held at the New York City offices of SNR Denton, and only shareholders as of Jan. 14 will be eligible to vote.
Commisso, the founder of Mediacom, offered $6 per share when he first broached taking the company private in June.
After withdrawing his offer in August, Commisso increased his bid to $8.75 per share in November.
