Thanks to its recently completed conversion to an all-digital lineup, Suddenlink Communications added 25 HD channels in its Kingwood, Tex. system.
The analog-to-digital project started in April in Kingwood with a neighborhood-by-neighborhood conversion using digital terminal adapters from Huawei.
The new HD channels included: KTXH-MNT HD, KFTH HD Telefutura, KXLN HD Univision, MGM HD, Lifetime HD, USA HD, Golf Channel HD, CNN HD, Fox News HD, CNBC HD, MSNBC HD, ABC Family HD, Nickelodeon HD, Cartoon HD, The Travel Channel HD, Bravo HD, AMC HD, Comedy Central HD, SyFy HD, Spike TV HD, CMT HD, MTV HD, VH-1 HD, Versus HD and Cinemax HD.
Last month, Suddenlink launched its DOCSIS 3.0-based Max 50.0 service, which features speeds of up to 50 Mbps on the downstream and 5 Mbps up, in Kingwood.
The additional HD offerings and DOCSIS 3.0 rollouts were the result of Suddenlink’s “Project Imagine,” which calls for approximately $350 million of capital investments nationwide through 2012, above and beyond the company’s traditional capital spending levels. Suddenlink is also expanding its phone service through Project Imagine.
