JAE has developed the FF08 Series connector featuring the industry’s narrowest pitch–0.2mm (0.08″) and the lowest height–1.0mm (0.039″) max. The reduced mounting space required for the FF08 Series connector provides design flexibility for multi-function applications such mobile phones with high definition cameras, one-segment TV, GPS functions, smart phones incorporating computer-like functions, eBook readers, portable medical instrument devices and similar applications.
The bottom surface connection-type FF08 Series connectors feature a ZIF structure for easy insertion of FPC with applicable thickness of 0.15mm ±0.02mm. A full-length movable structure prevents loosening and deformation during mating while creating a clear tactile “click”. A guide for the sides of the FPC prevents misalignment by temporarily holding the FPC in place until the actuator locks. Excluding the terminal area, board pattern traces are possible under the connector. This lead-free and halogen-free connector includes a nickel barrier that prevents solder wicking.
FF08 Series connectors are available with 25, 29, 41, 51, 781 and 81 positions and have a rated current of 0.3A per terminal. Rated voltage is 50V AC/DC, contact resistance is 70mohm (max.) and dielectric withstanding voltage is 250AC Vr.m.s. per minute. Operating temperature is -40°C to +85°C and the connectors have a mating cycle of 20 times (max.).
