Kabel Deutschland (KDG), Germany’s largest cable network operator and biggest triple-play provider, announced today that it has selected Proxilliant’s Cable Access Management System (CAMS) for deployment.
The decision by KDG followed a successful trial of Proxilliant’s CAMS solution in the city of Trier.
Proxilliant said its CAMS platform provides comprehensive and continuous information about network and service health while actively improving service quality. CAMS features intelligence deployed deep into the access network that works in concert with sophisticated software in the regional headend or central data center.
The intelligent management of the HFC network and services is combined with Proxilliant’s patented Dynamic Ingress Blocking technology. The information gathered helps operators dramatically reduce their field and network troubleshooting time and costs by pinpointing problems quickly, while also eliminating the propagation of quality-eroding ingress, according to Proxilliant.
KDG operates cable networks in 13 German states and supplies its services to approximately 9 million connected TV households in Germany.
