UBTECH Robotics, a company specializing in humanoid robotics and AI technologies, has introduced a robotics kit to help kids get them interested in STEM. Called the JIMU Robot BuilderBots Series: Overdrive Kit, the kit provides an interactive robotic building block kit that enables kids to build, program, and code two new robots— DozerBot and DirtBot—or create their own custom robot.
According to the company, the kit includes two robotic servo motors and two fast DC motors, making the robots among the fastest on the market. Each robot also contains an ultrasonic sensor and RGB light, which allows them to detect and avoid obstacles and react to their environments with lights and motions.
In addition, the kit includes access to the free JIMU app for both iOS and Android that provides step-by-step instructions to create any robot. The app is an interactive tool that provides:
- Easy-to-follow 3D building instructions that offer full 360-degree viewing, so you can see the model from every angle throughout the building process.
- An in-app “joystick” remote to control your robot on your smartphone or tablet.
- Pre-programmed actions help you get moving and create your own robot actions.
- Blockly coding to program limitless possibilities with either DozerBot or DirtBot.
The JIMU Robot BuilderBots Series: Overdrive Kit retails for $119.99 and is available at retailers such as Target, Amazon, and jimurobots.com.
