Kniffin joins Lightpath as SVP, chief admin officer

December 15, 2014 By Mike Robuck

David Kniffin has joined Lightpath, a division of Cablevision, as its senior vice president and chief administration officer.

In his new role, Kniffin is now in charge of all Lightpath’s finance and administrative functions. As senior vice president of financial planning at Cablevision, Kniffin worked on the financial reporting, budget and forecasting processes for Lightpath and other Cablevision business units.

“Across the organization, Lightpath has evolved to enhance our ability to understand and serve our customers, with an emphasis on product development, network innovation and operational support,” said Lightpath President Dave Pistacchio.. “In his previous role with Cablevision, David supported key financial activities for Lightpath, giving him a comprehensive understanding of our business. We anticipate a seamless transition to his new role and expect him to have an immediate impact on the organization.”

Before Cablevision, Kniffin held senior operating and finance positions at Newsday, which is also owned by Cablevision. Earlier in his career, Kniffin worked for Tribune Company, where he was responsible for investing in early stage media and technology companies. He started his career as a management consultant to businesses in the telecommunications, consumer products and pharmaceutical industries.

“Lightpath provides superior Ethernet-based telecommunications and managed services with an unparalleled focus on the customer,” said Kniffin. “I’m encouraged by the company’s opportunity for growth, and excited to work as part of Lightpath’s management team on expanding our suite of innovative services to address the changing market demands of our business customers.”
