Level 3 announced this morning that it had inked a deal to provide network services to Tulane University that were designed to bolster the New Orleans-based college’s business continuity infrastructure.
In order to help Tulane’s students, faculty and other employees have an uninterrupted and secure Internet experience, the university signed a multi-year agreement with Level 3 for Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) and Ethernet Private Line (EPL) services to support its critical business continuity needs. Financial terms of the deal weren’t available.
“We are very pleased with our relationship with Level 3. Not only does the company provide great service, but more importantly, Level 3 serves and understands the higher education community and is able to offer services in ways that make sense for us,” said Tulane University CTO Charlie McMahon. “These network services safeguard Tulane against losing connectivity to communications that are critical to the university’s core mission.”
Broomfield, Colo.-based Level 3 serves customers in more than 450 markets in 45 countries over a global services platform anchored by owned fiber networks on three continents and connected by extensive undersea facilities. Last year, Level 3 acquired Global Crossing to boost its global presence.
