Optimum Lightpath said its Managed Video service now supports real-time transport of uncompressed high-definition (HD) video at high reliability levels over its fiber network.
The ability is targeted primarily to media production facilities, broadcasters, television stations, video relay bureaus and content distributors that want to transport high-quality video of live events to various local destinations.

The company’s managed 1.485 GB linear uncompressed HD-SDI video transport service is provided over a dedicated optical transport service wavelength. The comprehensive Managed Video expands functionality to accept, transport and deliver native compressed and uncompressed digital video in common industry formats, including ASI, SDI and HD-SDI. Optimum Lightpath manages encoding and decoding, as well as installation, operation and maintenance, of all related equipment for Managed Video.
