Lightpath, the business services arm of Cablevision Systems Corp., has launched metro Ethernet and optical transport services in the New York metro area.
The company will market its Metro Ethernet private line (E-Line) and Metro Ethernet local area network services to small, medium and large business customers, offering connection speeds ranging from 10 Mbps to 300 Mbps. The optical transport line will offer connections ranging from Sonet (OC-48 to OC-192) to Gigabit Ethernet (1.25 Gbps to 10 Gbps).
Lightpath operates a fiber network consisting of more than 2,300 route miles and access to more than 20,000 “on-net” commercial buildings.
“Since Lightpath builds, owns and manages its fiber network…we can deliver the performance [businesses] expect, increase cost efficiencies and provide them with scalable solutions for their varying bandwidth needs,” said Kevin Curran, Lightpath’s SVP of marketing, in a statement.
