At CES 2017, Cason Grover, Senior Group Manager, Vehicle Technology Planning for Hyundai Motor America explains the need to be aware of local regulations for every area where an autonomous would be driving. For example, even though the on-boar sensors can detect a pedestrian, dealing with pedestrians in cross walks is one situation that is not consistent. In this drive, the vehicle senses pedestrians in the cross walk, stops and then proceeds when they have crossed the street.
