Eurotech expands its portfolio of embedded boards and modules with the new Catalyst AL small form factor module for low-power applications in rugged and fanless embedded systems.
Powered by the Intel Atom E3900 “Apollo Lake” processor family, the Catalyst AL is a small form factor Computer On Module (COM) designed to deliver high computing performance while maintaining a very low power consumption. It is available in dual and quad-core versions, with up to 8GB of RAM with ECC, up to 32GB of eMMC and two SATA interfaces.
Measuring just 100x67mm and with an operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C the Catalyst AL is designed to ensure high reliability and operational continuity in demanding, long-lifecycle applications in the harshest Industrial and Transportation environments. Moreover, it provides a drop-in replacement for previous Catalyst generations (Catalyst BT, TC and XL), requiring minimal or no changes to existing carrier boards.
Thanks to the Intel HD Graphics 50x GPU, the Catalyst AL it can drive up to three simultaneous independent screens, supporting MIPI camera input and HD audio. It also accelerates the implementation of field and system interfaces by providing high-speed serial, USB 3.0 and 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet and GPIOs.
The Catalyst AL provides a fast go-to-market solution for IoT projects of any size: like other Eurotech embedded boards and modules, it is compatible with Everyware Software Framework (ESF), the IoT Edge Framework that adds advanced security, diagnostics, provisioning, remote access and full integration with the Everyware Cloud (EC) and other cloud services.
The Catalyst AL will be available for orders from Q4 2019.
