After a two year stint as Cablevision’s vice president of corporate communications, Kelly McAndrew has left the cable operator’s employ for Xylem.
McAndrew joined Xylem, which focuses on global water issues, as vice president of global public affairs.
McAndrew now reports to Xylem senior vice president and chief communications officer Angela Buonocore and will oversee global external communications efforts in support of the company’s corporate strategy, financial performance and key corporate issues. She is based at the company’s global headquarters in Rye Brook, New York.
“Kelly is a seasoned corporate communications executive with a proven track record of developing and executing successful strategic communications plans,” said Buonocore. “We look forward to Kelly’s leadership in continuing to build the Xylem brand and sharing the company’s results and progress with key external constituencies.”
McAndrew joined Cablevision in 2012 around the same time when many high profile executives were exiting Cablevision to work with former boss Tom Rutledge at Charter Communications.
At Cablevision, McAndrew led the development of corporate communications strategies, oversaw media relation activities for the company’s local media properties and directed the company’s charitable activities.
Prior to her role at Cablevision, she served as senior vice president, corporate communications at Viacom where she was in charge of the development and execution of communications strategies related to the company’s corporate, financial and regulatory activities.
From 2000 to 2007, McAndrew oversaw global public and media relation activities for The Pepsi Bottling Group. Prior to that role, she held both external communications and public affairs roles for Texaco Inc., where she worked for nearly a decade.
Xylem posted revenues of $3.8 billion last year and has more than 12,500 employees worldwide.
