Silicon Valley seems like the obvious choice for robotic customer service representatives.
Mineta San Jose International Airport has three new agents who never need coffee or bathroom breaks, and they never get tired after a long day on their feet. That’s because they don’t have feet.
The airport unveiled the robots Tuesday.
Norma, Piper, and Amelia speak six languages and feature large touchscreens to help airport visitors get where they need to go. They’re situated at Gates 11, 21, and 25.
The robots were designed and created by South Korea’s Future Robot. The trio cost $120,000 and were purchased by the airport’s concessionaires.
