Sports fans who don’t want to miss any action now have another option for watching multiple games at once.
ESPN has launched tvOS Multicast on its app for Apple TV, just in time for football season. Users have five different ways to view up to four live streams simultaneously, and can choose from more than 30 live events available on ESPN networks.
Users can also choose to watch just a single feed, or two, or three at once, and can be arranged in five different layouts. The feeds can be re-ordered, and customers can choose which one they want to hear audio from.
This is the latest addition to TV services offering a multi-view feature. In March PlayStation Vue launched their version for PS4 ahead of March Madness that allows users to view up to three channels at the same time.
Dish also gave its Hopper 3 customers the ability to watch four feeds simultaneously when it introduced its Sports Bar Mode, also referred to as MultiView, nationwide. That feature divides a 4K or HDTV screen into quadrants, each displaying a different program.
