On October 14, Murata became a founding member of the Architects of Modern Power (AMP) Consortium.
The new industry group, which also includes CUI and Ericsson Power Modules, aims to advance power system technology and boost supply chain security for distributed power systems on a global level.
The goal of the group is to create the most technically advanced, end-to-end distributed power solutions – a complete ecosystem of hardware, software and support.
The AMP Consortium’s work will go beyond defining mechanical dimensions and product footprints for intelligent dc-dc power modules and ac-dc power supplies. Most significantly, the long-term strategic alliance will foster close collaboration between members to develop shared technology roadmaps.
In the years to come, participating companies will look to establish common specifications for products, standardization of monitoring, control and communications functions, and create common configuration protocols for interoperability between the firms’ various products.
The end result will be a true multi-sourced, high efficiency power ecosystem with exceptional supply chain reliability through continuity of production.
